Space Shit

This is a nasty post going out to the very bad service I witness.

Photobucket

On Wednesday, I attended a "New Concept Launch" event at Space club KL. I haven't been there for sometime now, so I thought I would check it out. When I got there, the queue outside was so long. It was a "free flow" event, so apparently you only get to go in if you have guest list, some Datuk's people, or you know someone working there as the usual case.

They design the entrance in a way that they splitted it into 2 lanes (I think). The left lane was blocked off.. I guess it was for the VIPs. They only allowed entry on the right. Now, there is only one entry, so there should only be one line to queue. There was a line backing up until the mamak shop next door, a line backing up to The Loft, and a bunch of idiots smacked right in the middle pushing their way in. This is very bad and not properly organised for an event I must say. Next, when you get passed the entry, you have to sign in your particulars, very normal for clubs these days. This part was not an issue. Now the main reason for the stupid long queue, the H1N1 check. Yes it is a must these days to check if there is any irresponsible donkey's out there who want to infect others, but if you're going to expect that much crowd and have them all checked, DON'T GET ONLY ONE MISERABLE DEVICE TO CHECK EVERYONE UP! Oh yea, and if you have H1N1 and you want to get it, try to get in from the exit lane, because the stupid bouncer there let's you in. He will tell you to go get checked and get a sticker to certify you're healthy, but just ignore him and walk right pass him. He won't stop you. *wink*

Next, free flow. The usual case of cheap ass pariah Malaysian who never in their life drank liqour before, well at least they seemed like that. Please be considerate to the other people. Yes it's free, everyone wants it, or at least needs a drink when they get in. Don't hog the fucking bar for goodness sake. These idiots stand at the bar, take a free drink, drink it bottoms up and wait for the next. There are people waiting behind you for their turn you dumb idiots. What if you were behind? I must say that I have club so many years and I know who these idiots are and which zoo they come from. Secondly, the bar tenders should also be blamed. You know it is a big important event, get everything sorted out. The service is so slow. How long does it take to line a few glasses together, put some ice in it, pour the liqour and then the mixer in? If you know it's going to take a while and you're going to do it non stop the whole night, then you either need more help or should have started earlier. This is F&B man.

Next, clubs are usually sponsored with drinking glasses, from shooter glasses to what ever u can think off. You know the space are of your club and you already know how many guest to expect that night, how in the world can you run out of glasses to serve your guest? Maybe there was somebody eating glasses that night? Or maybe someone is smashing all the glasses that no one can hear? First solution, BE PREPARED! Second solutions, if you got no choice, then prepared some plastic cups, people won't mind. Yes, I must say I saw some plastic cups but you ran out of it as well. What's next? Paper cups? .................

ICE! The basic need for drinks in the club. It makes you drink cold when you put it directly into your glass. If you drink is in a bottle, like beer, then common sense will tell you that it will need some time to get cold. How can you serve warm beer? Did you put the beer into and ice box filled with cold water or only one bag of ice? Or maybe you started filling in the beer into the ice box when people started coming in?

Basically that is all the dissatisfaction I experienced that night at Space Club KL. The music and lighting was good. The bar tender was kind to serve Adeline and I with just Pepsi because there was no more liqour and we didn't want the warm beer. Cheers to you man! The cute waitresses with massive hair extensions, that was whacked! I love the huge disco ball.

All in all, if you're going to do an event like this to pull your crowd back which you lost, then you should do way better than this. Planning is always important, it is not and overnight job. Pariah's wont put you back in business and only suck you dry, nice people will. So study your customers. Service is top in F&B, so serve at your very best! Follow up with your customers, practise good PR.

If you're back in business, I must say that you're lucky. If not, you have to try again real hard to compete with the best. Cheers!

Michael Jackson

A legend was once born, God named him Michael Jackson. He lived to touch many lives all around the world through music. His heart felt lyrics brought people together and made the world a better place. Just when we all thought Michael was history, the sad news broke out. This did not mean that all his hard work left together with his soul, but it was reborn. His music hit radio and tv networks every single day like as if he was just starting his work all over again. I grew up listening to his music and watching his dance moves. You cannot say that you have never attempted The Moonwalk nor can you say you never heard of his music.

A young group has put together this mind blasting video together, as a tribute to the man who defined the term "music". I believe that Michael is not dead, it can never be....

Block Men!

It's Saturday and I have nothing to do, so I went browsing and found some of my all time favourite LEGO men! Although it's small and there's nothing much to design out of it, but it still brings back the LEGO kid in you.

What's in LEGO Men?

One of my mom's friends just came by few weeks ago to drop off some stuff to be given away to charity. I found a bag full of LEGO boxes and it was all new! Not new new.. it has not been opened yet. I kept that for myself. =)

I kill you!

If you have LEGO men and you don't know what to do with it, please don't throw it into that metal bin. Just give it to me. I'll be happy to have it to my collection. I can see a great deco for my room. =)

I don't know, but this looks locally familiar

Wonder Girls

First, watch this original music video of these korean girl group singing "Nobody". Sing along if you can follow the Korean lyrics in English.

Now watch what this "seem like Singaporean guys" did to the music video to pass a very good message around about the H1N1 disease that is spreading around. No doubt it's funny, but the message in the lyrics is very true. Enjoy!

If Only I Knew

He was a great guy. Always so happy and smiling. I remembered him being tall and big. He was a fast runner too. Just like little kids back then, we used to play catching and all the other games to fill up our recess break. Sometimes when I make fun of him, he would chase me around the class, and when he does captured me, he would carry me like a bear because i was tiny. He never spoke proper English back then, but I admired him for always trying and learning. I learn a lot of Cantonese words from him.

Soon, primary days were over. We then moved on to secondary where everyone met new friends. Everyone had their own goals in secondary, new clicks, and so on. We were still friends, just not as close and carefree. I then began seeing him a lot at cyber cafe's. He spent a lot of time there playing his favourite games. Slowly our friendship drifted further and further. I started seeing him once in a blue moon around my housing area. I didn't even know he had plans to go overseas to further his studies. I was really hurt when I found out...

I will always remember the great fun we had growing up. I never knew what it felt like, losing an old friend. Even typing this makes me tear. I hope that God has put you in a safe place up there. Rest well buddy.

Screwed?

This is a clearer picture of what happened to my car. Well, it's a month now till it happened. And the case is still not settled. This is how inefficient some people can be at work. Have you ever heard of some people telling you, "It will be a lot faster if you knew someone" or "money can help".. well this is exactly the crap I have to deal with.

Cash Anyone?

CIMB Bank is having roadshows all over Klang Valley. When you see this big red truck with a white Volkswagen Touareg in it, why don't you go over.

Just As Predicted

Well well, as I said in the previous post, the guy that crashed into my car just got away with 3 different summons. Basically, my car just got trashed just like that. The cop told me this:

1. Either you go look for the guy and ask him to pay up cash, or
2. Ask your insurance comoany to sue him.

What is this? they practically just washed their hands off the case. Yes that idiot did not have any road tax or insurance on that car, but at least he should be behind bars for reckless driving? 3 summons? Pfts.. even a 12 year old can pay for that. The question is whether now is there any lesson learnt from this? Is he going to do it again? Or are the authorities just going to wait for more accidents to happen, and then easily collect money from the summons? What about the victims? What the hell are we getting for our losses? Fuck this!

What Happens When...

1. a car hits a motorcycle when the rider beat the red lights. No witness and no cameras?

2. a girl gets hit while she was crossing the highway when there is a bridge 500 metres away?

3. a police car hits another car while chasing a suspect?

4. a little kid get runned over when the driver was reversing and couldn't see the kid?

5. a bus filled with school children loses control and slams into a truck because of a group of motorcyclist racing on the streets?

The list can go on and on and on. How are cases like this going to be concluded? Who is to blame in all these situations when there are no witnesses? It's always the typical "You blame me, I blame you". Who are humans to decide when they are not even there? Is there a law? Is there a way to prevent all this? Will witnesses in Malaysia stand up or will they just go back to their ordinary lives pretending to not witnessed the incident to avoid any "trouble"? Have you ever thought, that one day it may happen to you or someone you loved? What would you expect then?
